For anyone that's interested, I create characters & other concepts for anyone to use for their own projects; they all have "Open Source" or "OS: " next to their titles for your convenience.

This is a Superhero / Urban Fantasy setting where there is a metropolis in The Super Sargasso Sea. And this city is made up of many city blocks that have been shanghaied from many dimensions and all collected and organized by what time period they came from. So there are districts made up of city blocks from the 1910, one from the 1920s, one from the 1930s and so on. And with each new piece that ends up in The Super Sargasso Sea, comes with it heroes that try to protect their new home from many threats from both inside the city and beyond it's borders, many crime bosses that want to take control over the city, giant monsters that act more like a natural disaster and other wonders.

So if you're someone with character concepts that you've scrapped, concepts for plot devices and macguffins that have been scrapped, or just stories that haven't got off the ground and/or never finished, maybe you can give those concepts a second chance with this setting.

I'm constantly adding onto this setting so that people can have plenty of material to work with. Also if you'd like you can take out the characters & other concepts found here and add it to your own stories.

And you can do ANYTHING you want with them. You wanna switch Genres and turn a Superhero into a Fantasy character? You can do it. You wanna make Rule 34 of it? You can do it. You wanna use it to make the stories that you'd like see get made that those in Mainstream Entertainment aren't providing currently? You can do it.

Go Freakin' Nuts. :D

Just remember to give proper credit when you do use them and (This is optional) maybe leave a link to my page so that others can find my characters. That's it. There are no other strings attached.

I am what you would call a Public Domain Enthusiast. Someone who has a fascination with stuff that is found in the Public Domain and all the ways it can be utilized in stories. And I'm not talking about JUST stuff like Greek Mythology, Robin Hood, King Arthur, Grimm's Fairytales and all that. I'm also talking about the more obscure stuff that you may or may not have known is free to use in your own projects. I have an entire gallery dedicated to showcasing the stuff that you may not've known is actually Public Domain.

And as someone who is a PDE, I am of the opinion that the US' Public Domain had been stagnant for too long thanks to companies like Disney lobbying congress to extend the copyright term limit to a ridiculous length. And I was happy when we started getting new content back in 2019. But I believe that we needed a lot more content out there since the Public Domain had been stagnant for 20 years too long, so I decided to make content specifically for people to use in their own projects. As I am also an advocate for more independent creators to rise up as currently, much of the content made from companies like Amazon, Disney and EA has been nothing but trash.

So yeah, if you'd like to start creating, think of my content as a free resource for various ideas that could come in handy to your stories / games / whatever.

So here's a weird idea I thought of while watching a video from Yahtzee. You guys ever heard of Typing of the Dead? That spin-off of House of the dead where you use your keyboard as a gun and type different words that damages enemies? Well what about something of a Typing FIGHTING game? The working title of this idea I'll call "Keyboard Warrior" and basically instead of using controls like a normal fighting game, in gameplay you type in specific words & sentences to build up a meter at the bottom of the screen as your chosen fighter readies their attack. The more you type quickly and without any screw-ups, the faster and more damage the resulting attack will do that will damage your opponent's health bar. Each different fighter has their own unique words and sentences that their controller has to type out in order to perform their specific special & super moves. Though if they make mistakes, it lowers the damage output of the attack and can cause the attack to miss if too many

Since The Silver Surfer in the new Fantastic Four movie from Marvel Studios is going to be female, I was curious, what do you think of there now being a female Silver Surfer in the MCU? Shalla Baal has been a version of The Silver Surfer in the comics and obviously, Galactus has had female heralds like Nova and Plasma but this just seems to me like being much more of the kind of nonsensical wokeness and political points that are ruining Super Hero Movies and mainstream comic books right now. Like so many of the other fans of The Silver Surfer, I wanted to see the relevant Silver Surfer- Norrin Radd.

More and more, I'm feeling like Marvel( like DC) is losing it's way( which is one of the reasons why I mostly now just read only old comics from Marvel and DC and independent comic books).

Maybe you could create a parody of the MCU's new Silver Surfer in Sargasso or in The Kern-Verse! I might have to do it, too- because I feel like it deserves to be mocked and parodied- especially since The Surfer is such an awesome and amazing character( I remember how Stan Lee had even said that The Silver Surfer was his favorite Marvel character and he's easily one of my favorite Marvel characters, too) and here Marvel is pulling these kinds of asinine stunts with the character!

Maybe I will. :)

And here is their current design.

Chroma Cosmic

I call her Chroma Cosmic. One of the infiltrators that entered The Realm of Dorkness and took over one of the regions of The Realm. When the one that became Chroma became the region's leader, she gained a form of cosmic power and a cosmic-powered Windsurfing Sailboard.

I wanted to get your input on something. I just came up with an entire original Justice League-like group that I'm going to have be killed off in the comic book that I have planned for Shark( and I'm also going to be doing another JL-like group made up of PD and OS Super Heroes that will also be killed off and then I'll make an Avengers-like group of all Original Characters based on the six original members from the first Avengers movie, too).

One main reason that I did it was because I thought that it would be a very fun challenge for myself to see if I could do it( come up with an entire group of a JL-parody) in less than a hour!

The group's made up of ''The Metropolitan''( a Superman analogue), ''Night Tide''( a Batman analogue), ''Frenetic''( a Flash analogue and I would've gone with ''Mr. Frenetic but that was already taken) and Waraxe Maiden( a Wonder Woman analogue). And for the last two who are respectively, analogues for Green Lantern and Cyborg, for the GL analogue, I was either going to go with the names ''Daylight Bringer'' or ''Dayrise'' and for the Cyborg analogue, I was going to go with either ''The Cyberbionic Man'' or ''The Automaton Man'' . So, my question is, which of the two Super Hero names for the GL and Cyborg analogues do you think would be good to go with?

Needless to say, I'll be killing off a lot of characters in comics in The Triumphant Universe( all of whom I'll be putting into the public domain, as I've said before). But most of the characters that I plan to kill off( The Kung Fu Frogs Of Shaolin and The Thunder Family included), will appear in web comics and independent comics before I have them all killed off and that way, people can get to know them and care about them and it'll mean much more and have much more of an impact when they die and make their sacrifice in the graphic novel for Shark.

As you know, it's hard coming up with names( and good ones, at that) for Super Hero characters( and Super Villains, too), so people might be surprised how hard it actually is to come up with names for new original characters! A lot of the names that I was originally going to go with for the group members for the Justice League parody were already taken!

And even ''Night Tide'' is being used by another creator( a member right here on Deviantart, in fact) for a villain in comics that he said that he planned to do but as he doesn't appear to have the name trademarked, I still felt like the name was fair game and his character is called ''Nighttide'', whereas mine is ''Night Tide'' and of course, a LOT of characters in comics have similar-sounding names and even the same names.

For the GL character, I'd go with Dayrise.

For the Cyborg character, hmm... I dunno. Both those names don't really roll off the tongue that well. But if I were to make a choice, I'd go with The Automaton Man.

Like I've said before, I really value your opinion, so thanks very much for your input and feedback!

Dayrise it is for the GL character, then!

Yeah, it was exceedingly difficult thinking up a good name for the Cyborg analogue and you're right, they don't really roll of the tongue that well and that's always part of the smell-test for me, how the names for the characters sound whenever I say them out loud and also, how easy they are say to them out loud. I would've gone with ''Automaton'' but of course, that's already been used by Marvel, DC AND Image for characters!

I thought about ''Automatonic'' but that goes back to what I said about how the names for the characters sound whenever I say them out loud and I wouldn't want people to not know how to pronounce it. ''The Humanoid'' was another one that I considered but that, too, was already being used by Marvel for ''The Humanoids''.

Like I always say, I'm open to any suggestions and ideas, so if you have any ideas that you happen to think would be good for a Cyborg analogue, I happily welcome them! But maybe I could just go with something like ''Humanist'', that rolls off the tongue really well!

I did some checking and as far as I can tell, no one seems to be using that name for characters in comic books and he could have the nickname of ''The Automaton Man'', just like how Superman has the nickname ''The Man Of Steel''!

Well here's a quick list of some of my ideas:

Rossum (From Rossum's Universal Robots)

Armatus (Latin for Armed Man)

Kiraso (Esperanto for Armor)

Though I think Humanist could work as well.
