Description

Count Orlok
Alias: Lord Ruthven Kolro of Wallachia
Powers: Pestilence Inducement, Infestation, Shapeshifting, Vampire Physiology, is immune to but loses powers in sunlight.
Equipment: A casket filled with soil from his grave.
First Appearance: Nosferatu, eine Symphonie des Grauens (film, 1922)

Movie Origin
"Count Orlok is a vampire from Transylvania, and appears to be the haunt of many nightmarish creatures, including a werewolf (which was actually played by a hyena in the film). Orlok, known locally as the eponymous "Nosferatu", is a living corpse also known as "The Bird of Death", which feasts upon the blood of living humans. "

Before Bella Legosi, there was Max Schreck; the first cinematic vampire seen. There was an older Hungarian film called Dracula's Death, which was made a year earlier but that movie has been lost. You know, someone should do a re-imagining of Nosferatu. And I don't mean make it like Bram Stoker's Dracula, but maybe make a more original story. I'm not saying the original is bad, just that we need to have Count Orlok back for modern times; like Dracula vs Orlok maybe?

On the subject of public domain vampires, how do you think that you would use Count Midnight from Corey Grant's The Midnight League on the Open Source PD characters page on Facebook( and for that matter, the rest of The Midnight League,

too)?

I'm planning on using The Midnight League as a Super Hero group in The Triumphant Universe(I could have had them be villains but I thought that that would be far too easy and I liked the idea of them being a group of Super Heroes who don't look like what you expect Super Heroes to be like and to be more like Mike Mignola's Hellboy)and The Midnight League( with the exception of the team member, Temptress) are basically like all of the classic Universal Studios monsters put together as a group. In my mind, they can be interpreted as either Super Heroes OR Super Villains, so I really love the idea of making them into Super Heroes and using them as Super Heroes!
